Cario Faculty and Staff cover backstage on performance nights.
Call Time Procedures:
Students, Volunteers and parents attending rehearsals should enter George Street side door (black door with little window). Administrator will check you in.
Go directly to assigned seat in house for opening notes. Students must remain seated; students may visit quietly (like on an airplane) or read while waiting for meeting to begin.
Parents may attend rehearsals; however, parents must enter with students and report directly to seating area.
Adults not wearing a Volunteer or Cario ID are not allowed backstage. Please see administrator, if you desire to exit rehearsal. If parent exits, readmission is not allowed until 30 minutes before rehearsal end time at Main Theatre Doors on George Street.
No student phones allowed. Any phones will be confiscated and parent must pickup from Administrator as you exit rehearsal or performance.
Parents and Volunteers are asked to take their phones off wifi.
Students may bring water bottle (plain water only) and non-staining snack. Students may only drink or eat in Dressing Room. Clean up all trash.
A Cario Administrator will be present at all rehearsals and performances.
Adult Volunteers will be present in all Dressing Rooms.
A Nurse will be present at all rehearsals.
Adult backstage volunteers must wear Volunteer or Cario badges. Please return Volunteer badges at the end of rehearsal/performances.
Parents/Drivers may enter Main Lobby Doors 30 minutes before rehearsal ends. Please show your Mulan, Jr. Parent/Driver pass to Administrator to enter building. Please sit in house for remainder of rehearsal.
Call Time Procedures(cont):
Students may not leave building until officially dismissed at scheduled dismissal time. If prior arrangements have been made via email, parent and child should report to Administrator to exit.
At the end of rehearsal, all students must exit with parent/driver at Main Lobby Doors. Administrator will monitor all exits.
Parking is available in the city garage directly across the street on George x St. Phillips.
Please carpool, if possible.
Driver may drop off students at Sottile Theatre back door during call times, but driver must park and come inside lobby for rehearsal dismissals.
Snow Rescheduled Sottile Rehearsals, Jan 8 & Jan 9:
Wear costumes on Monday, Jan 8; Do NOT wear costumes on Tuesday, Jan 9.
Bring a snacks and water both days.
Call time is 5-15 minutes before rehearsal begins. Volunteers should arrive 15-30 minutes before rehearsal begins.
On Monday, Jan 8, parents should drop off and pickup students at Sottile. 51 mic leads: 1pm-8:30pm; All other cast and crew: 4pm-8:30pm.
On Tuesday, Jan 9, Cast and Crew will eat lunch in Cario Cafe at 10:30am; Buses will transport cast and crew to Sottile. If you do NOT want your child to ride the bus, please email me at joan_mcleod@charleston.k12.sc.us by Sunday.
On Tuesday, Jan 9, parents should pickup students at Sottile at 7pm. Lobby doors open at 6:30pm. No child may leave without an adult present.
Parents may attend Rehearsals. See Call Time procedures 1,2,3,4,6 above for guidelines.
During RunThurs & Dress Rehearsals, please applaud as you would at a performance, so students become familiar with applause breaks. Typically, in a musical, applause occurs following every major musical number.
Students may not leave rehearsal or dress rehearsal until officially dismissed at scheduled dismissal time. If prior arrangements have been made via email, parent and child should report to Administrator to exit Sottile. Parent should be standing at lobby door at appointed time or child will not be released.
For regular dismissal, parents must come inside Sottile to pickup students. Lobby Doors will open at 8pm on Monday and 6:30pm on Tuesday.
Ms. Randall helped plan new schedule and is in full support of our new plan.
Performance Nights for Performers & Volunteers, Jan 10 and Jan 11:
Students should arrive in costume and makeup.
Follow regular Call Time Procedures.
Follow regular Dismissal Procedures.
Costumes:
Costumes should be worn three days: Monday, Jan 8, and both performances, Jan 10 and Jan 11.
Huns should wear baggy style pants of any neutral color or loose legged jeans.
Chinese Dragon Huns should wear red tshirt underneath Hun sweatshirt.
Fathers may wear neutral pants, jeans or black leggings.
Students wearing dresses may wear neutral tights or black leggings with cami or tshirt.
All other wrap around costumes or robes require a neutral cami or tshirt.with neutral pants or black leggings.
Shoes:
Huns and Soldiers may wear neutral tennis shoes or boots.
Mothers, Daughters, Villagers should wear neutral flats.
No high heels or sandals allowed.
Makeup & Hairstyles:
